Following the rain-soaked ‘Dragon’s Trail’ Ramblette last Saturday, a Petition has been started to re-build two small wooden footbridges which were dismantled a few years ago.

These two bridges provided access to the most beautiful part of Ifield Brook Meadows – the Riverbank Walk – which people have enjoyed for centuries.

This ‘hidden gem’, at the heart of the ancient Parish of Ifield, is now a Council-protected ‘Local Green Space’ – but very few people within the local community even know of its existence.

As part of Crawley’s 70th Anniversary, another Ramblette has been organised for next Saturday [July 29th] – “Re-Building Bridges” – 12 Noon to 1.30pm from the Plough in Ifield Village.

All welcome – including dogs. Good waterproof footwear is advised – except for the dogs.
